Roanoke Island Accommodations (Including Manteo Hotels and Wanchese Hotels)

The best way to experience Roanoke Island, with its small towns of Manteo and Wanchese, is to come for the night. Manteo is perfectly quiet and even more special at night and in the early morning, and the Manteo hotels are conveniently situated to put you in the middle of the magic. When everyone else has gone home for the day, you’ll relish the character of this island as you stroll the quiet streets and moonlit Manteo boardwalk. And when you wake up here, you’ll see a sunny side of the island that day-trippers seldom get to see.

Manteo hotels welcome guests to the historic waterfront area and beyond with sites that range from gracious bed and breakfast inns and guest houses to hotels and small Manteo motels. There are also two historic homes that have been transformed into nice Wanchese bed and breakfast inns. Along U.S. Highway 64/264 there are several other hotel options. Here’s a tip: These Manteo hotels and motels on the main highway offer less expensive rates than Outer Banks hotels in general, especially the beach hotels. And remember, this island is only about 10 minutes from Outer Banks beaches.

We also let you know about where your pet can board on Roanoke Island if cozying up with you in your Manteo hotel or inn room isn’t allowed.
