Welcome to Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe
About Lone Cedar Cafe:
Welcome to waterfront dining at Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café in Nags Head. The Basnight family invites you to dine on the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Café. Keeping our tradition of the freshest and best, our vegetables are “just-picked” from North Carolina farms, and we serve only all-natural beef and poultry. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets, the antics of our resident osprey and our warm southern hospitality.
The tradition of fresh and delicious seafood dates back to the early days of the Outer Banks. The Midgetts, the Basnights, and the Tilletts made their livings by harvesting the fresh catch of the day. To continue the family tradition, Sandy, Marc and their daughters, Vicki and Caroline, opened Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café in 1996. Drawing on the rich Outer Banks heritage of the Midgett, Basnight and Tillett families, they developed a menu which enhances the freshest seafood and ingredients using many “old time” Outer Banks recipes.
