Ortega’z Grill brings some much-needed cultural spice to Downtown Manteo. With a definite southwestern flair, and a relaxed, casual atmosphere, you can enjoy lunch or dinner on the covered outdoor patio or in either of the two dining rooms. If you’re looking for a quick meal or a cold drink, head over to the ‘Wine Bar’ in the center of the restaurant.  It’s where people gather - locals and vacationers alike and it’s where you can enjoy a broad and varied selection of wines, beers, and now mixed drinks.  (Be sure to ask about our new signature drink - the Manteo Marguerita.  Inside or out, the restaurant has a comfortable feel and a reputation for delivering exceptional food.

The specialty of this Southwestern-inspired restaurant is slow-roasted chicken, beef and pork, which are served in burritos, chimichangas, nachos and other TexMex–style dishes. Plus, Ortega’z always features fresh, local seafood with a daily special of what’s in season and caught by Outer Banks fishermen.  Other house-made specialties include grilled Margarita shrimp with pineapple salsa, stuffed jalapenos, Southwestern-encrusted sirloin, a full rack of barbecued ribs, lamb shank, applewood-smoked pork chops, build-your-own kabobs, seafood and more. Desserts include homemade cheesecakes, flan and churros (apple-filled pastries drizzled with caramel icing). Ortegaz serves beer and wine, with a wine list dedicated to the regions where the owners grew up – Northern California and Chile – and several wines are offered by the glass.  In additon, Orega’z now offers liquor by the drink . . . so whatever you want, we’ve got you covered.  The atmosphere is colorful and casual, and the restaurant gets a little more dressed up for dinner. In warm weather you can dine outside on the patio. Ortegaz is open for lunch and dinner Tuesdays thru Saturdays.  Come on over and enjoy a meal at Ortega’z.
